About Astroflex Power

The Company

Astroflex Power addresses a core challenge in Europe’s satellite industry: the high cost, mass, and volume of conventional solar arrays for spacecraft.

Astroflex Power’s solution is a new generation of lightweight, flexible, and cost-efficient solar arrays for spacecraft. The system uses space-qualified, silicon solar cells laminated on ultra-thin flexible substrates, combined with an innovative deployment concept. This architecture reduces mass and stowage volume by 10x – 100× and lowers subsystem cost by up to 90% compared to traditional arrays, while maintaining robustness and scalability for large satellite platforms

A subscale prototype is currently under development, integrating space-grade silicone solar cells, low-outgassing materials (ASTM E595 / ECSS compliant), and certified atomic oxygen protection.
An environmental test campaign scheduled for Q2/Q3 2026 will advance the system to TRL 5/6, qualifying the solar array and its deployment mechanism for launcher loads and operational space environments.

Astroflex Power secured ESA Business Incubation Funding to accelerate the qualification and design of the solar array product.
